First of all, THANK YOU for your interest! I am amazed and humbled at the support and attention my poetry has gained in the past three years. In my experience, I have found that middle and high school students often respond in much more engaged, empathetic, and personal ways to my poetry performances than they do to lecture-style events.
I’ve taught poetry workshops in eighteen school districts in the U.S. and have experience hosting slams for competitors ages 12-18, as well as adult and college slams. I’m the current Dyer-Ives Poetry Competition Coordinator for the Grand Rapids Public Library, a contest that is held annually for Kent County residents and students. From 2016-2017, I also organized and coached the Tendons + Teeth Slam Team at Grand Valley State University (CUPSI competitive team).
I’d love to hear from you. Booking requests or inquiries can be sent to kelseymaywriting [at] gmail [dot] com.
Thank you again for your interest, and I can’t wait to hear from you!
